Connecting Lives in GRACE AND TRUTH

OUR VISION IS

  • || Timothy 3:16-17

    “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

    We are people who desire to know the truth of God’s Word.

    It is in God’s Word that through the Law we see our need for a Savior, and it is through the Gospel that we see that our Savior is Jesus Christ. We believe that the Word of God is relevant, living, and active shaping what we believe and how we live.

    The truth of the Gospel is only found in God’s Word and it is fully sufficient to prepare us for life and service. It equips us for lives of holiness based on grace and truth. The Word of God is the center of our worship, the textbook of our teaching ministries, and the foundation of our lives.

    The Way, the Truth, and True Life can only be found in Jesus Christ! It is absolute; there is no other truth or writing that takes precedent over God’s Word.

  • || Matthew 22:36-38

    “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law? Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

    We are people who are committed to building deep relationships.

    God created us to be in relationship with Him and each other. It is out of our relationship with God that we find all that we need. It is only when we truly know God that we can understand ourselves and our relationships with others.

    We need each other. We worship and serve together, we forgive one another and bear each other's burdens, and we celebrate and hurt with each other because we are all sinners who have been saved by Christ’s redeeming work.

    These relationships are built on grace and truth. Therefore, they will be generous, caring and authentic.

  • || Matthew 20:20-28 and I Peter 4:10

    “Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

    We are people following Jesus to become servant leaders.

    “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

    We desire to equip people to serve sacrificially with great joy imitating Christ’s servant heart for the Church. We are called to serve each other because of Christ's ultimate sacrifice for us and His wonderful gift of grace. It is our desire is to express our appreciation through love of the church family; to pray for each other, to support each other, to give of our talents, spiritual gifts and resources as God leads. Oak Hill will be unique in this and, therefore, creativity, innovation, newness and passion are expected to be a part of our congregational identity.

    It is our conviction that the entire congregation, not only the staff, is called to lead the world toward the Gospel. Oak Hill Church is composed of many gifts in many lives that, when combined, is God’s way to proclaim the heart and message of Jesus Christ in our context today. This type of living will provide transformative impact through God’s power from generation to generation. We desire to create a culture of transformational servant leadership where lives are becoming more Christ-like.

  • || Matthew 28: 18-20

    “Then Jesus said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’”

    || Acts 1:8

    "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

    We are people who desire to make an eternal difference locally and globally.

    We believe that God wants all to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. God has called us to this very important work and, thus, we will seek to equip our people to be effective in connecting other people to Jesus Christ.

    We believe Oak Hill Church is a local manifestation of the Body of Christ and, therefore, we commit to be deeply connected to our immediate congregational community. We are also a part of the Universal Church throughout the world. Therefore, we want to be engaged in various chosen ministries that are growing God’s Kingdom throughout the world. We will choose ministries that are the best use of the resources with which God has blessed us.
